ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book supports by insights from practice, and provides an overview of the attitudes, real-life experiences and perceptions of early childhood education and care managers. It introduces the concept of an emerging public private nexus, where author suggests that both community and private settings share the same ideological space. Both are motivated by wanting the best for children, and both aspire towards providing quality Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC). The book provides a quality service, and having a sustainable business is not mutually exclusive objectives, nor should one be compromised because of the other. It challenges the notion that all that is required to be an early childhood manager is being a nice person, or experience of working with young children.
