chapter  11

Training is a challenging and developing area of applied psychology. The psychological basis of good training practice is gradually changing together with the nature of the real world problems which training addresses. This chapter attempts to highlight the activities of the applied psychologist involved in training. Given the range of these activities, this chapter has to be selective in its discussion and more comprehensive reviews can be found in Goldstein (1986), Morrison (1991) and Patrick (1992).
