ABSTRACT

This chapter reviews on equipment and technology involving on people in the management and implementation of these changes in order to achieve Business Plan goals. The Rolling Mills Vision was developed to articulate the future goals in terms that described the future work environment. It also responded to the frustration that some people had in understanding the Department's Business Plan strategies and actions. The Maintenance Network was formed to clearly communicate expectations and business needs and to enable employees to express their views. Maintenance is modelling their Safety Meetings on Network Meetings. The Organization Development Manager, Daphne Hart, has supported the design and development of this work, as an integral part of our Business Strategy. The Supervisor Network, comprising 16 supervisors, the Mills Management Team and the Organization Development Manager, met every three weeks. The Supervisor Network has developed into a more pro-active team.
