ABSTRACT
After completing this chapter, the reader should be able to:
briefly outline the pathophysiology of angina pectoris;
identify the major drug groups used in the treatment of selected conditions associated with poor perfusion of tissues, such as angina pectoris, cerebral ischaemia and erectile dysfunction;
state the mechanisms of action of the major drug groups;
demonstrate a knowledge of the adverse reactions associated with each drug group and how they derive from the mechanism of action.
