ABSTRACT

This chapter aims to provide readers and practitioners with a bank of resources that may be useful when embarking upon teaching visual methods in a higher education setting. The resources are Bank of ideas, Bank of learning outcomes, Key questions for consideration, Ethics checklist, Guidance notes for participant information sheets, Example participant consent forms, Example information sheet for the public and Example group agreement form. The bank of resources also includes Example student project outline, Example student projects, Template for reflexive diary, Example student feedback sheets, Peer and self-assessment form, Ironman poster and Useful reading. The chapter explores some of the key issues that are pertinent when considering the use of visual methods as a teaching and assessment tool. When beginning the journey in visual methods and considering how these could be incorporated into a meaningful teaching and assessment tool, we put a great deal of thought into how the assessment would be devised and presented to the students.
