ABSTRACT

The Human Resources Consultant of an insurance company invited the author to find an effective intervention to improve a positive communication between the seven Executive Directors. The author met the seven Executive Directors once a week for three times for 90 minutes at the Company's Central Office Meeting Room. Opening the first session he explained that everyone was free to talk about their pattern of communication or any issue concerning the working style of this Executive. The author conducted these sessions as a dynamic group, in an Organizational environment, meaning: concentrating on the interpersonal communication and avoiding individual analytical observations. The Chairman, who was positively satisfied from the flow of the Marathon, opened the session with an outlook of the Company. The use of Expressive Therapies could help when verbal encounters are not effective in changing a rigid pattern of communication. Expressive Therapy allows applying at different times different styles of conducting the group according to the specific situation.
