ABSTRACT
The time domain form is the variation of signal amplitude over time, as described in Chapter 2. Complex sounds can be modelled as a combination of sinusoidal elements of different amplitudes and frequencies. This chapter delves more deeply into the form of sounds in the time domain and the characteristic features that give rise to particular perceptual effects. This information is useful when developing audio processes that relate to those features.
