her months ago, and the relief in seeing a loved one in pain with no hope at all, seeing her go out of it all, is real and in a way satisfying. Only, of course, in the case of a mother the emotion that grieves grieves not for the exhausted one that dies, but for the mother one knew long, long ago. Everyone goes through it, and whatever one's age, it is bloody.
