ABSTRACT

Biocompatibility: 1. Capacity of materials, products, systems and fabrics to avoid damages, diseases, and/or discomfort to users. 2. The term is composed by a prefix bio, coming from the ancient Greek (life) and the compatibility, deriving from the Latin cum patior, participating to, being in harmony with, and underlines the character of harmony with the living milieu (Carbonara and Strappa, 2013). 3. The materials can be defined biocompatible when they are equilibrated with the environment and do not create any harmful effects on the health of living beings, comfort, or allergy.
