ABSTRACT
The priority given to the land-use implications of recreational research has resulted in a heavy concentration in contemporary literature on problems of countryside conservation and on the provision of amenities for outdoor recreation. 1 Consequently there is little written as yet on the supply of indoor amenities in urban centres. 2 This chapter is concerned with the distribution of such facilities, with particular reference to the public sector of provision.
