ABSTRACT

In this book, many different issues related to social justice in the contexts of care delivery, disenfranchised groups, and political policy-making have been explored. It is easy to feel discouraged and powerless when the magnitude and impact of social injustice is exposed. In light of the deeply embedded social messages and norms that perpetuate ongoing difficulties for people who are disenfranchised or marginalized in their experiences of death and loss, how can we make a difference? In addition, how can we support those who care for people within workplaces that are driven by materialist-based policies?
