ABSTRACT

Misogyny is defined as the dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women. This way of thinking is one of the contributing factors to sexual violence on our campuses. Misogynistic ideologies are engrained in early childhood messages received from family, media, society, and religion. While there have been steps forward in recent years to make corrections to how women are valued and treated, this change has been slow in coming and is not without detractors. Issues of equal pay, fair treatment in the workplace and classrooms, and freedom from unintentional stereotypes

and prejudices remain significant challenges and obstacles to be overcome.
