ABSTRACT
This chapter considers a range of key contexts in which gender justice is embedded across leisure and sport feminist scholarship. This is done in order to reinstate the significance of a feminist leisure lens for addressing inequalities across sport, physical activity, active recreation and other activity that takes place under the broad heading 'leisure'. The chapter draws on recent incidents and coverage of women in the UK national cycling team to invoke discussion of how the sport nexus is far from being dismantled. It expresses that a politics of gender justice in leisure and sport feminisms, be that implicit or explicit, remains vital to resisting hegemonies and dominant discourses. This includes an assertion that aspirations for achieving gender justice in leisure and sport are not only feminist issues; not only do feminists need to continue towards a collective outcome, it is also incumbent upon those interested in sport and social justice more generally to engage and/or re-engage with sport feminisms.
