The enabling environments award as a transformative process

This chapter will introduce the ‘Enabling Environment’ (EE) standards and the EE Award process. It will map the inception and development of the standards reflecting on the psychosocial framework on which they are based. It will also describe the rationale for the methodology of the Award. The chapter will include a number of case studies to demonstrate the integrated nature of the standards and methods and highlight the developmental nature of the process, specifically within the criminal justice sector.
