ABSTRACT
The "discovery," in a subjective sense, of the phenomena of speaking turns marked a shift in the exploratory study, providing a focus for subsequent analysis. To be sure, no actions had been demonstrated in any substantive way to have a relationship to the exchange of speaking turns. And if no such actions could be found in the transcription, the study would still have nothing to show for the efforts that had been placed into it.
