ABSTRACT

In 1963, governments of India and the Republic of Korea agreed to the mutual exchange of one professor and five post-graduate students each, for study and research in Indian and Korean universities respectively. The two governments and their agencies like the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) and the Korea Foundation sponsored scholarships for graduate and post-graduate studies. The Korea Foundation offers Korean language training scholarships as well as grants for field trips for research students and Korean language teachers. The Indo-Korean joint fund is administered by department of science and technology (DST) and the Korean National Research Foundation (NRF) under the Korean ministry of education, science and technology. The fund's focus is on joint research projects in the following areas: transportation, robotics and engineering sciences, nutrition and food safety, renewable energy, chemical and biochemical technologies, health and medical sciences, material science and technology, water resources and environment and IT.
