ABSTRACT
A surprising number of the replies fall into the last two categories. The third response is a bit confusing, but probably indicates that they can be approached through a secretary, through friends, by inviting them to a live performance, or through some other industry connection. Some of the people who do listen to unsolicited tapes will probably surprise the reader. One of the most recent “yes” replies came from Randy Jackson, the bass player, producer, and American Idol judge. Many other methods have been used by enterprising artists and new ones are evolving every day.
