ABSTRACT

Every ethnic conflict has as many perspectives as there are parties. Macedonia’s ethnic conflict is no exception. Ethnic Macedonians and ethnic Albanians who are the major players in the conflict hold opposite and evenly ethnocentric views of each other and of the causes and the consequences of the armed conflict. This chapter deliberately presents only the mainstream perspective of the community of ethnic Macedonians in its (as much as possible) authentic wordings and discourses.
