Origins and the Diaspora Begins: c. 200,000 Years Ago and Later

Origins Except, perhaps, for human beginnings, no question surrounding remoter human history generates more controversy than that of the origins of modern humans, ourselves. When and where did the first fully modern humans, Homo sapiens, often called AMH (anatomically modern humans) evolve from more archaic people? When and how did our awesome cognitive abilities develop and in what part of the world? Today, the ultimate descendants of these very first modern people inhabit every continent and every kind of natural environment imaginable. This raises another important question. When, how, and why did Homo sapiens spread and colonize the Old World and the New? These are now the questions that we must confront, navigating cautiously through complex arguments, rapidly changing environmental conditions, and still very inadequate scientific data.
