ABSTRACT
For all the high-tech wizardry of today’s archaeology, we must never forget that archaeologists study people, not just artifacts, food remains, and culture change. This chapter, “The Archaeology of People,” uses artifacts, forensics, and other material remains to look behind the facades of ancient societies at the complex interactions between groups and individuals that are at the very heart of all human societies.
