ABSTRACT

Nevertheless, if the purpose of this book is to provide a new research perspective for navigating postmodern life, then feminist methodology offers an excellent option for students of communication. Fewer than 50 years old, feminist research is a contemporary of postmodernism. As academic endeavors, the two grew up together on college and university campuses. Like the era that produced them, feminist methodology and postmodernism both question what we think we know and how we know it. You can think of them each as inquiries into the process of inquiry. At the same time, like siblings, feminist methodology and postmodernism do not always see eye to eye. Yet, despite their disagreements, they are related and do influence each other.
