ABSTRACT

In the Wizard of Oz, Dorothy and Toto have a number of clues indicating that they’re not in Kansas anymore. Leaving aside all the strange creatures, Oz is a world of vivid colors! Stop for a minute and consider how different your world would be without color. At one level, it wouldn’t be too bad. You’d certainly appreciate watching a movie such as The Wizard of Oz on a black-and-white television. (We know it might be difficult to imagine, but not too long ago the typical television showed only black-and-white images!) However, it’s certainly true that color adds richness to your perception of the world.
