Dr. McDonald appears in court to testify about the emotional state of a psychotherapy client before the client was injured in an auto accident. Dr. Higgombotham discusses the risk a convicted child molester poses to the community and factors that moderate the risk of future sexual offenses. Dr. Walters is asked to evaluate a retired school teacher with Alzheimer’s disease and to give an opinion about the teacher’s capacity to make a will. Dr. Maxwell is hired by the defense attorney in a murder trial in which the 14-year-old defendant confessed to the crime, and Dr. Maxwell is asked to evaluate the defendant’s capacity to understand the Miranda warnings.
