teen Innovative/Mystical Therapies

In chapters 11 and 12, psychological treatment methods were introduced that are considered mainstream-the bread-and-butter techniques of the great majority of practicing psychotherapists. The mainstream therapies have been introduced in this book largely in the order in which they were developed, beginning with Freud’s seminal work on psychoanalysis. The last major additions to this body of literature and therapy practice (as described in chapter 12) were cognitive therapy, the continuing developments in the interpersonal therapies (chapter 11), motivational interviewing, and emotion-focused psychotherapy.
