ABSTRACT

Music in many ways is the universal language. It connects cultures, generations, and even socioeconomic groups. But, with its rhythm and beat, music is a great way to help students move in the classroom. By incorporating more activity into the day, especially with music, most of the students now enjoy PE and love going outside to play as much as possible. While listening to music is an auditory function, when movement is involved such as clapping, dancing, and moving about then it becomes a kinesthetic modality. Music can also help focus a learner's attention. Research proves that music and movement are vital components in developing and enhancing student's performance in the area of math. One of the most innovative ways to include music in the classroom is to bring pop culture into the classroom. While music can be energizing, fun, and engaging, it can also be a great source of focus, stress reduction, and even relaxation for students.
