ABSTRACT

This chapter contains a lesson on how to implement each over-the-counter data (OTCD) Help System standard. It provides a simple and easy-to-use interface, logical point-and-click navigation, and overall a great user experience. In addition, teachers' awareness or perceptions about a data system's available infrastructure and capabilities are not in line with the actual available infrastructure. Educators cannot view data reports on their own to analyze data in a data system if they do not know how to access the reports, generate the reports. Ideally, a report environment should be intuitive enough that users rarely have to turn to the help system for guidance. However, intuitive is a subjectively applied term. Lack of tech-familiarity can cause users to struggle with systems others find easy to use, and lessons on using the system work best when they cover all key cases where help is needed.
