ABSTRACT

Mindfulness has become quite popular in recent years among both clinicians and the clients they serve. A number of mindfulness-based interventions are now considered evidence-supported treatments, including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR; Kabat-Zinn, 2013), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT; Segal, Williams, & Teasdale, 2013), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT; Linehan, 1993, 2014), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT; Hayes, Strosahl, & Wilson, 2012). These programs are often conducted in a group format, which facilitates the development of mindfulness skills through modeling, feedback, and peer support (Sears, 2015; Segal et al., 2013).
