ABSTRACT

It is impossible to design digital media for theatre without all the gear and technical tasks that come along with the art making. Chapter 5 details all the relevant industry equipment that is commonly used in the profession, including systems, media servers, projectors, projection surfaces, emissive displays, cameras, video signals and cables, video signal distribution hardware, video production gear, networking equipment, and sensors. Practical solutions, guidance, and calculations are provided for all the needed technical tasks, from converging, warping, and blending projectors to calculating surface brightness/luminance, screen size, and throw distance, to using masks, warping content, and projection mapping.
