ABSTRACT

The complete Chinese name of the next sutra we will be investigating is 金剛般若波羅蜜經 (jīngāng bōrěbōlúomì jīng), which is a translation from the Sanskrit Vajracchedikā Prajñāpāramitā Sūtra ‘The Vajra Cutter Perfection of Wisdom Sutra’. Most of the time this text is referred to in Chinese by the shorter name 金剛經 (jīngāng jīng), which is where the translation ‘Diamond Sutra’ came from. The title is further explained in the notes to Extract One.
