ABSTRACT

Pitch is a contraction of the phrase sales pitch, and a good pitch is a concise verbal presentation of an idea, story, or screenplay for a film or television film made by a screenwriter in the hope of selling a script or idea, or to be hired for a writing assignment. On a couple of occasions the author was fortunate enough to attend seminars conducted by Marc Vahanian, an executive coach and peak performance expert for a number of Fortune 500 Companies. Vahanian's current focus is on training leaders in corporate cultures, and he has developed concrete strategies for getting the job, nailing the pitch, and staying relevant in times of change, which he outlines in his book, Getting the Job: The 7 Keys. They are: purpose, passion, preparation, partnering, practice, poise, and presentation. The job interview is a presentation of writers' value proposition. Presentation is verbal and non-verbal.
