Threats of acquisition can induce management to change the organization’s structure and internal processes to inhibit the takeover effort. If managers are to respond to the increased interest in global markets and the need to compete across many borders, they need to consider major changes in their organizations.3 Increasi ng workforce diversity and growing interest in managing for quality are also forces for change.
