ABSTRACT
Introduction This chapter introduces the technical vocabulary for the two main parts of a sentence: subject and predicate. Subject and predicate are the names we give to the most fundamental pattern in all our sentences. Pupils who can understand this structure will have a key to unlock the syntax of any sentence.
