ABSTRACT

The work of Ariadne Beck is discussed. The Emotional Leader, the Defiant Leader, and the Scapegoat Leader are all defined according to Beck’s work. Who is playing out the role of Scapegoat Leader is distinguished from the process of scapegoating. The Scapegoat Leader can bring many positive qualities to the group. The process of scapegoating is a negative form of interacting that can easily get enacted with the Scapegoat Leader. Several case examples are presented.
