ABSTRACT
This opening section explains how the present book aims to contribute to the advancement of corpus-based translation studies by offering a much-needed detailed account of corpus triangulation, where different corpora (e.g. parallel, comparable, synchronic, diachronic) and/or different methods of analysis (e.g. qualitative, quantitative) can be used to increase our understanding of translation-related phenomena. It presents the unique aspect of the book, which is that it consists of both a theoretical and an empirical part and that it offers a detailed overview of its organisation and structure with a short summary of what is included in each chapter.
