ABSTRACT
This chapter explains that the Psyche-Left-Behind lives on in the surviving indigenous tribes, communities and individuals in the wake of Western culture's genocide towards indigenous peoples. The collective unconscious, in a compensatory response to the crisis of global warming, appears to be pushing the Western psyche towards re-engagement with its psychic roots in Nature. The term 'Psyche-Left-Behind' refers to the fact that in the beginning of the Genesis myth Adam and Eve were in an original state of at-one-ness with nature, prior to sin and subsequent expulsion. Michael Oppenheimer, a climate scientist at Princeton University and a principal author of the report, said that a continuation of the political paralysis on emissions would leave society depending largely on luck. Euro-America has long projected mana onto the indigenous populations of the world, especially Native Americans, as if they had all the answers. Western culture and its languages are Logos based, binary, based in reason, are linear and, importantly, noun dominant.
