ABSTRACT

This chapter considers whether there are any lessons to be learnt from pedagogical cases. It focuses on three areas: new information that helps the teacher educators to conceptualise 'pedagogies of technology' or 'e-pedagogies', a challenge to pedagogues to 'be brave' in the ways in which we think about and use technology in physical education, and suggestions for the future. The chapter addresses a need for an inclusive 'big conversation' or 'grand debate' in the physical education profession about the potentially transformative role of technologies in physical education in a digital age. It aims to achieve digital technologies by exploring the dynamic pedagogical concerns of teachers and teaching, learners and learning, context and content as illustrated through a practitioner's experiences. It is important to reiterate that the practitioner narrative was the starting point for the construction of each pedagogical case, thus ensuring that practice was driving theory. The chapter also presents some closing thoughts on the concepts discussed in this book.
