ABSTRACT

In the new development mode, China should be positioned as a trading power. As trade volume expands at a greater speed than growth of national economy, trade dependency rises, which can be as high as 60 percent or even more. China has been integrated into the world economy in accord with the trend of economic globalization. However, in order to achieve national economic take-off, China has to maintain this unreasonable consumption cycle. In contrast, a trading power can make full use of foreign resources by imports and save domestic resources through foreign investment. Environmental problems in developing nations focus on the sustainable development of the national economy and foreign trade. The foreign trade development mode is transformed at the strategic and comprehensive level following the adjustment of the guiding ideology. Through analysing the relationship between scale, structure and benefits of foreign trade, the government can explore the factors which underline the power to obtain a share of the world market.
