There is no such thing as a working actor who has not faced the task of starting anew. Actors will take time away to try a career in a new industry. Or they will take breaks to start a family. And they might return to acting five or ten years later, because they discover that the bug never left them. There are any number of valid approaches to having a career in the theater. And though there are few definitives in the business of acting, one thing people can say with certainty is that nothing ever plays out exactly as they envisioned it. Audiences are increasingly rude. They lack decency and the respect. They do not understand the unwritten rules of the stage anymore, or if they do understand, they do not care. Theater, sadly, is still not for everyone.
