ABSTRACT
The complexities of room hire charges are reviewed in this chapter to include charges for additional services as well as the concepts of yield management, REVPAR, attrition and subvention. The chapter includes advice on how to avoid penalty charges and how to successfully negotiate the room hire rates with the venue manager.
