ABSTRACT

Sex offenders are regarded with great disdain in our society, and most others. Child sex offenders in particular are considered the most heinous, irremediable, untreatable predators. While some females sexually offend against children, 97% of persons convicted of a sexual offense are males (Statistics Canada, 2007). The general revulsion with which predators are viewed has resulted in stringent laws and punishments (Quinn, Forsyth, & Mullen-Quinn, 2004). These directly impact perceived validity of any treatment options for these men.
