ABSTRACT
This enquiry is not an appreciation of aesthetic representations or of the values
and interpretations of African cultural projects contextualised as African ‘art and
culture’ (Chandra 1994) or African ‘life and culture’ (Bowden and Wilson 2010).
However, concrete clarifications and evocative connections are of primary concern in
terms of African texts as purposeful cultural projects, as projections of Self Self bound by Africa.
