ABSTRACT

This enquiry is not an appreciation of aesthetic representations or of the values

and interpretations of African cultural projects contextualised as African ‘art and

culture’ (Chandra 1994) or African ‘life and culture’ (Bowden and Wilson 2010).

However, concrete clarifications and evocative connections are of primary concern in

terms of African texts as purposeful cultural projects, as projections of Self Self bound by Africa.
