ABSTRACT

Parents, universities and employers all have a role to play in enabling, promoting and shaping the delivery of High Performance Learning. Schools are a key context for the development of the necessary Advanced Cognitive Performance characteristics (ACPs) and the Values, Attitudes and Attributes (VAAs), but learning is not restricted to schools. Parents can play a significant role in helping their child to reach high levels of cognitive performance. Gifted education programmes have led to an explosion of enrichment opportunities for those identified as gifted' and are a regular part of the gifted education programme in many countries. High Performance Learning can help enrichment providers to shape their work in a way that can amplify the core learning in school. Success is a lifelong journey and the workplace has as much of a role to play in developing the cognitive skills and values, attitudes and attributes as the school or post-school study environment.
