ABSTRACT

The skills of creativity can be applied to many forms of learning and knowledge; they are not just for the arts and design fields. For example, an engineer will know how to solve problems in one way, but developing multiple ideas that may not be as initially apparent can lead to breakthroughs. Knowledge, the traditional lead component of most academic courses, is the least important aspect of the effort. Beliefs, habits, and skills are all more important. Beliefs come from one's own experience with and exposure to ideas about creativity. Perhaps the most important component of being creative is a belief in one's own creative capability. The world is more complex than one answer, and, in reaching for other possible answers in theory, find Einstein's relatives. While most fields hold that there is a unique, correct answer to any given problem, within creativity there are only good, better, and worse answers.
