ABSTRACT

For a business group (BG) affiliated firm, the derived resources and network externalities from its group associates engaged in related downstream/upstream activities may facilitate its internationalization (Singh 2011).6 We expect a favourable effect of Indian business group-affiliation (BG) on exports, as found by Singh (2009), and on the exporter status. Alternatively, we explore the influence of the stock of ‘overseas investment in group companies’ to total assets ratio, OIGint.
