ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book concentrates on the basic principles of contract law. It focuses on aspects of commercial law required to understand the business considerations and landscape in which construction operates. The different types of business organisations were set out together with issues concerning the operation of companies. The book introduces the law of torts and focused on those most pertinent to the construction industry. The emergence of Building Information Modelling (BIM) is the most well known. The processes at work have evolved over many years and determine the employer's approach to the construction project. It discusses the detail of how construction contracts operate and to highlight the contract administration tools required for project success. A key role for construction lawyers is to assist in the resolution of disputes by the means available through statute, common law.
