ABSTRACT

In Germany's post-World-War-I period of inflation I had the time of my life. The last shackles of restraint fell from German youth, to which, as I then thought, I belonged. I studied medicine in Berlin, the metropolis which was everything to everybody, a beautiful prostitute. The mushroom growth of amusements and escapes made it the capital of erotic glamour, and foreigners, much desired and welcomed for their hard currency, flocked into it, either to nibble at or to drown themselves in pleasure and vice.
