ABSTRACT

This chapter defines the specifics of the Enneagram-Story Connection between team development and storytelling. One of the biggest issues faced by writers in writing team-based stories is: what do they do with all the characters? If you have a large team, everyone needs to be busy doing something; they can’t just sit around doing nothing. The Enneagram comes to the rescue on this important question. The Enneagram defines specific team-role behaviors and traits for each of the nine core Enneagram Styles. What this means is that each team member has an Enneagram style, and consequently their Enneagram style defines what kind of role they will play behaviorally on the team. The roles vary widely, but they are distinct and can easily be adapted for any character in any story context, where there is a team involved.
