ABSTRACT
Hindi film music has a long history of pushing the envelope in terms of creativity, innovation, and experimentation. Since the 1930s, with the advent of sound, iconic films have redefined structures of film music by incorporating varied musical cultures, disparate instrumentations, as well as latest technology, complex uses of music in relation to the narrative, altering existing codes of use, and employing different methods of sound design.
