ABSTRACT

Sigmund Freud’s ideas thoroughly altered our view of human beings as rational and conscious. He has been called psychiatry’s greatest hero by some and its most calamitous rogue by others (Lieberman 2015). To some orthodox Freudians Freud remains an impervious hero who could do no wrong, while, at the other extreme, he has been condemned as a fabricator (Roazen 1971).
