ABSTRACT

Professor Sechaba Mahlomaholo is senior research professor and dean of the Faculty of Education at the UFS. He is a devout Christian whose approach to leadership is strongly influenced by his religious faith and experience growing up in black townships in the eastern Free State province. After attending a secondary boarding school in QwaQwa, a former homeland or Bantustan (townships typically did not have secondary schools), Professor Mahlomaholo enrolled at the University of the North (also known as Turfloop), where he received a UED in education, a BA in education, and a BEd honors in special educational psychology in 1986. Professor Mahlomaholo went on to earn an MEd in counseling and consulting psychology from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education and a DEd in psychology of learning from the University of the Western Cape in 1998.
